A Trust for nurturing the Art and Heritage of India
Paaramparya – Weaving the Threads of India’s Living Heritage
In every gesture of a folk dance, in the lingering notes of a lullaby, in the colors of a festival street—India remembers herself.
Paaramparya is that memory made visible.
A registered non-profit, voluntary trust, Paaramparya is devoted to preserving and promoting India’s living traditions—those intricate threads of language, art, and custom that tie generations together and shape the vibrant fabric of who we are.
From bustling cities to quiet coastal towns, India’s culture is not a relic—it is alive, beating in rhythm with the human heart.

Cochin Carnival 2023 – A Mosaic of Cultures
Paaramparya’s Samskarolsavam Procession was a showstopper at the Cochin Carnival—a moving gallery of India’s layered identities.
With ornate chariots and vibrant tableaux, the streets of Kochi came alive with the colors and customs of communities like the Gujaratis, Anglo-Indians, Kachhi Memons, Marathis, and Pathans.

During the Kochi Biennale, Paaramparya created spaces for young learners to step into history.
K. J. Sohan (Former Mayor, INTACH Kerala Coordinator) took students on a journey through Kochi’s ethnic layers.
Prof. N. Ramaswamy (Heritage Architect) offered insight into:
● Kochi’s heritage remnants
● Kerala’s traditional architecture
● Coastal monuments shaped by wind, salt, and time
Each session opened new windows into how heritage lives not only in buildings but in stories, textures, and memory.
Digital Documentation – Archiving the Coastline’s Soul
To protect what time tends to fade, Paaramparya, under the direction of Prof. Ramaswamy, launched a landmark digital documentation project.
Focus Areas:
● Kochi’s ethnic heritage—centuries of coexistence
● Kerala’s coastal architecture—where maritime trade and design meet
Through images, records, and research, this project preserves voices of the past so they may continue to resonate in the future.
Paaramparya – Where Culture Breathes
More than an organization, Paaramparya is a collective heartbeat—of communities, artists, scholars, and everyday citizens who believe in the enduring power of heritage.
With every quiz, rally, workshop, and festival, we reconnect people to their roots and to each other—stitching together stories that are too rich to lose.
